For New York Fashion Week, fall/winter 2014-15, SB47 debuted their collection built for that young, New York girl, fresh out of a private university and on her way to land her first job with an art gallery or PR firm. The SB47 girl is super body confident and believes that her choice in fashion is as important as wearing a tough skin to get ahead in a creative industry. She is bold, edgy, and probably has a diverse interest in both music and art.
A chorus of leather, pleather, velvet sequins, mesh, and layering were primarily dressed in black, while bold appearances of animal and skull prints, ran rampant throughout the collection. Fabrics were manipulated in a way that offered each piece an edge, incorporating the designers love of motorcycles. A pin-striping technique was used in beading and embroidery, translating well into luxurious textiles. SB47’s debut was a fresh take on life with a dynamism that is inherent in the cuts and style of each piece.
