Despite being the new kid on the block, creative director Simon Holloway for Agnona presented a timeless collection for resort 2017. The British designer went deep into the Italian brand’s archives to gather inspiration for the newest collection.
Holloway captured the grace of simplicity and femininity with a soft palette of neutrals like ivory, oatmeal, and pale taupe while mixing them with sweet shades of coral, lilac, nude, and hibiscus. Silk, cashmere, and cotton curved into elegant silhouettes that still whispered the luxury of couture.
Honoring tradition with detail and design, Holloway accentuated the modest collection with floral prints from the sixties. He melded classic looks with contemporary lines and accessories. The result was a breeze from the romantic days of plisse’ skirts, slip dresses, and boucle sweaters softening the body-conscious, graphic color-blocked shift and tunic dresses. This collection accentuated the sweetness of femininity from the decade while radiating the self-confident modern woman. It’s got us ready to rat our hair and do the twist!
