While fireworks were set off in America this July 4, amfAR hosted it’s own sparkling evening in Paris. A dinner and auction was held at The Peninsula Paris in support of The Foundation for AIDS Research.
The evening included a performance by Grammy-nominated classical chanteuse Ute Lemper including songs like Amsterdam, Die Moritat von Mackie Messer, and Lola.
A live auction was also held to raise funds for the foundation with rare items on the block. Some of these rarities included a signed Willy Rizzo photograph of Yves Saint Laurent in a Paris apartment in August 1960 with the Christian Dior Couture fall/winter collection of 1960-61, a framed portfolio of 10 Andy Warhol screen prints of Mick Jagger from 1975 signed by both Warhol and Jagger, and a 70th Cannes Film Festival package for the 2017 festival.
The event shimmered with esteemed guests including Tory Burch, Pierre-Yves Roussel, Naomi Campbell, Eva Cavalli, and Donatella Versace. Harry Winston served as the event’s Presenting Sponsor and Moët Hennessy, The Peninsula Paris, and Renault were the event’s Signature Sponsors.
