CHANEL Cruise 2021-22

Chanel Cruise 2021-22 Replica Show in Dubai

At the beginning of the 20th century, Gabrielle Chanel envisioned a sense of ease for her clients at what would become the now iconic fashion house, offering ready-to-wear collections that take its wearer from business to leisure. This week, Chanel presented its 2021-22 Cruise collection in a star-studded show in Dubai, continuing in the tradition of providing light vacation looks that reflect its signature silhouettes and techniques.

Inspired by the friendship between Chanel and poet, playwright, and filmmaker, Jean Cocteau, creative director Virginie Viard crafted the collection with his 1960 film, Testament of Orpheus in mind, creating looks of distinct color schemes, especially playing on color contrasts seen in punk. Caped mini dresses that were fitted at the bust, but otherwise flowing in shades of black and white, were met with the house’s ever-recognizable tweed jacket and skirt sets layered over graphic t-shirts. A white, billowing jumpsuit played on 1970s sensibilities while an embellished blazer was paired with slightly pleated beige pants. Printed, asymmetrical sets in parachute silhouettes were worn with fishnet tights and offered a rebellious spirit and the care-free attitude Chanel’s Cruise collections always embody.

The show was followed with an afterparty hosted by DJs Wladimir Schall, Soo Joo Park, and Kungs, and featured a surprise performance by John Legend, joined on the piano by Faouzia.
