Rodolfo Paglialunga played with proportion, silhouette, and texture for the Jil Sander fall/winter 2017 collection. Shoulders and sleeves were wide and roomy and models made use of pants pockets on the runway, emphasizing the clothing’s comfort with confidence.
High necks prevailed, whether in knits, shirts paired with suits, or dresses. Oversized coats and jackets with darts and pin tucks were reminiscent of eighties power suits. With just two patterned looks featured, the majority of the collection was rendered in solid colors of red, grey, maroon, yellow, light blue, tobacco, and powder pink. We loved two knit sweaters in camel, alongside fabrics like leather, wool felt, chenille, and double face cashmere.

Later looks had moments of padding, quilting, and ribbing while the final pieces sparkled and shined in shimmery bronze metallic lurex.
