For Chanel’s Cruise 2020 collection, the house constructed a Beaux-Arts Parisian train station—complete with its own charming café—at its accustomed location in Paris, the Grand Palais. It was here that the brand presented designs filled with timeless elegance and effeminate ease, perfect for traveling both in comfort and style.
For Virginie Viard’s debut Cruise collection with the house, the designer chose a varied palette of black, white, and brown tones, mixed with fresh pastels and other spring bloom-reminiscent hues. Silhouettes were roomy and unrestrictive, seen in pieces like wide-legged pants, sheath dresses, and boxy jackets. Collarless button-ups, bows tied at the neck, belt bags, and white pointy-toed heels brought classic details of the past to the present day.
