Giampiero Bodino designs fine jewellery collections that embody the essence and poetry of Italian artistry. He used detailed craftsmanship and contemporary art influences for the fall/winter 2016 haute collection.
With an architectural background, Bodino revisits his roots with inspiration from historical monuments like the San Vitale Basilica or the Galla Placidia Mausoleum in Ravenna. This is reflected in the piece Mosaico as a shimmering pink gold and diamond cuff, classic and timeless like the buildings that inspired it.
The Tesori del Mare flows like the sea with all its breaks and entangled curves. The colors range from the deep blues of the waters to the whitest crests at wave breaks. A set of earrings and a necklace sparkle with blue sapphires, diamonds, and white gold, capturing the heart of the sea.
Passamaneria encompasses the delicacy of femininity with its pink tourmaline sugar loaf atop a ring in white gold and diamonds. Each stone shines with light, revealing the complexity of the pattern in its entirety. Meanwhile, the Rosa dei Venti was inspired by the number eight and contains a congruous geometric figure in the form of a jewel. This piece vibrates with bold multicolored stones included the centripetal violet and blue sapphires, enrapturing viewers and wearers alike.
