Loewe presented a collection rich in contrast in texture last week during Paris Fashion Week. There was an element of melodrama, with the lights lit low, and details of rare orchids and Lionel Wendt photographs.
Garments in leather, nylon, cotton twill, washed silk, and matte suede were in solids, polka dots, pleating, ruffles, plaids, and stripes. Looks were accented with floppy hats at times, knee-high boots, silvery ankle booties, or tan brogues. Knits, materials, and patters were paired, layered, and blocked in looks throughout. Hair was parted down the middle and slicked back, creating an austere feeling quite distant to past seasons’ dance with moments of whimsy.
