Luisa Beccaria’s Romantic, Fearless Heroine

Last week, Italian designer Luisa Beccaria released her romantic fall/winter 2016 collection as part of Milan Fashion Week. Embodying the dialogue between nature and form, the collection captured Beccaria’s gentle, fearless heroine with a combination of airy florals and geometric accents. Models flashed homespun braids and satin chokers with teardrop pearls, weaving storybook charm into every look.

The show featured short-sleeved scoops layered over off-the-shoulder blouses, alongside windowpane suits with chickadee embellishments. Iridescent taffeta bundled into puffed sleeves, while printed chiffon glittered with pearl-peppered bouquets. Standout moments included a transparent dress embroidered with songbirds and foliage in blue and cream; a snowy hooded cloak with a bluebird pin accent; a high-necked silk gown in peacock blue, with a floor-length pleated skirt; and a spectacular blue velvet ballgown, with black-edged ruffles creating a tinted, watery illusion.
