Milan Men’s Fashion Week: Trussardi and Canali Look Back

New worlds and forgotten eras were the inspirations behind the Trussardi and Canali collections that showed in Milan this week.

Designer Umit Benan wove the Trussardi collection into a universe between the romantic past and ever-present future. Strong silhouettes and rustic materials like heavy wool and fur were transformed into luxury items while still remaining innately masculine.

Canali presented a collection inspired by past luxury, military style, and art deco. The looks utilized materials from alligator, to cashmere, silk and mink; all in an ode to a beautiful, gothic past where elegance and quality was the ultimate sign of social status.
