BCBG Max Azria kicked off New York Fashion Week with a packed house and a different tune for the otherwise consistent designer. Azria produced a hipsterish look for the runway lots of layering and outerwear. There was a plethora of cashmere beanies, motorcycle and baseball jackets, flowy tops mixed with leather leggings, topped off with a color scheme of black, white, greys, and navy. Azria coordinated his loose tailorings with leather, cashmere, wool, and rare moments of feathers and chiffon. Black leather or indigo silk burnout leggings were given a ladylike appeal with pointed-toe heels, and gowns were punked out with masculine jackets and dark beanies.
