Philipp Plein revved up for the holidays with its 2017 cruise collection that included bomber jackets, silk dresses, and studded denim brush against mid-century cars. Plein employed his signature reds, blacks, and whites with pastels to create a blend of street wear couture and body conscious eveningwear.
Car racing treatments of Cadillac, flames, and lips are applied to the collection, remaining true to the brand. Bold weighted materials like leather biker jackets and jeweled joggers were juxtaposed with the lightness of silk A-lined dresses, fil coupé crop tops, and guaina skirts. Plein’s craftsmanship with minute details in embroidery and classic skull and spike studs, sequins, and pearls ascertain his talented accessory collection.

Plein is known for non-conforming statements and strong leitmotifs, signified with the semitrailer entrances of models at his latest show in Milan. With energy from engines revving, lights flashing and bursts of flames, the designer melded two worlds of fashion into a hot collection with astonishing synergy.
