Prada’s Cosmopolitan Collection at Milan Fashion Week

Prada showed its fall/winter 2016 women’s collection earlier this week in Milan. The chic lineup carried over big-buttoned blazers and sailor hats from the men’s collection shown in January, adding diamond-patterned tights, argyle gloves, and lace-up boots for a bold, feminine touch.

Corset waist belts introduced hints of steampunk flair to the cosmopolitan collection, which featured embroidered florals, romantic art-printed shirts, and original landscape designs. Fur showed up in unexpected places, like the sleeves of a blazer. Standout moments included a black-and-orange high-necked desert dress with velvet cuffs; a black trench coat and corset combo; and a long-sleeved embroidered black velvet dress.
