Valentino Embarks on New Path of Masculinity with “Le Ciel 20.24” in Paris

The forward-thinking fashion house reimagined the color blue from a hallmark of one-sided masculinity to a rich expression of sensuality, tenderness, and fragility that evoked the realities and desires of the contemporary man.

Over the weekend during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, fashion house Valentino presented a dynamic Fall/Winter 2024/25 collection imagined by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli titled “La Ciel 20.24.” The forward-thinking maison evolved the color blue from a hallmark of one-sided masculinity to a rich expression of sensuality, tenderness, and fragility that evoked the realities and desires of the contemporary man. Sky blue in particular provided fertile ground for experimentation and boundless imagination, giving the masculine wardrobe room to breathe, grow, and flourish in our new world.

Valentino’s luxurious tailoring made way for a new softness and humanity in men’s garments. Suits, jackets, and elongated coats were tactile and rounded, featuring lush embellishments. Floral-inspired embroidery, cascading fringe, and luminous leather in rich onyx evoked sensitivity and flair. Seductive intarsia in tailoring imparted mythological tales of honesty, nobility, and righteousness. The altorilievo technique created artistic windows through garments and across jacket shoulders to surprise, delight, and elevate modern menswear.

Timeless wardrobe staples from sweeping coats, to chic turtlenecks, to effortless trousers, were seen in lively blue. A zippered and hooded denim jacket was seen on the runway alongside a chunky knit in shining azure, juxtaposed with a highly textural sweater in muted shades of black, blue, and gray. A short-sleeve shirt enhanced with matte blue diamond-shaped jewels was jubilant and eye-catching, paired with a cranberry turtleneck, gray trousers, and studded shoes for the ultimate expression of sparkling masculinity. Radiant shades of red, green, lilac, orange, and pink washed over a harmonious parade of garments, totes, and handbags, lighting the path ahead for a gracious new journey in masculinity with Valentino.
