Up-and-coming designer Wes Gordon is praised for his mastery of classic techniques and modern designs. In his spring/summer 2015 show, Gordon utilized a minimalist aesthetic that highlights the form, texture, and movement of the garments. Inspired by the atmosphere and colors of morning light, Gordon used a neutral palette with soft pastels. The longer hemlines and streamlined cuts allowed for Gordon’s expert craftsmanship to shine through, while metallic fabrics and salt-airbrushed denim added a modern touch. The delicate textures of lace and pleated chiffons combined with structured crepes and tweeds evoke the feeling of a confident femininity within the collection. As with his previous creations, Gordon’s designs encompass a timeless sophistication with a youthful edge.
