Brand New: Yara Bashoor, Dior, and So Much More

By Pearl Fontaine

February 21, 2018

Winter is coming to an end, and with the season change, many different designers, artists, and brands are shedding their coats to prepare for the warmer upcoming season. Below, we’ve put together a Brand New roundup of some of our favorite new collections, items, and collaborations to help you get ready for spring.

Designer Yara Bashoor took notes from the colorful city of Miami’s Art Deco architecture and her Columbian roots to create her brand’s line, Timeless. Luxurious and fun, the exotic collection of nine bags (made with sustainably-sourced American alligator and South African ostrich skins) is fit for any sophisticated woman looking to make a statement. Working with skilled artisans to create beautifully handcrafted bags and accessories, Bashoor offers handbags perfect for the warm seasons ahead.

The beloved Sam handbag makes a punchy comeback in celebration of Kate Spade’s 25th anniversary. With a number of different materials (like quilted leather, printed canvas, and wicker), this Kate Spade classic is reintroduced with over twenty variations. While each of the new designs is modern and unique, the same classic, utilitarian design ensures that Sam will make the perfect companion for the warm weather ahead.

Made with bold, bitter botanicals like saffron, columba, and angostura, Martini & Rossi’s exotic new Rivera Speciale Bitter is perfect for the upcoming warm weekends off. With its many layers, the sumptuous taste is perfect for a number of cocktails to enjoy, such as the brand’s iconic new Winter Spritz—additionally made with the brand’s Ambrato, and olive bitters, blood orange juice, and Lambrusco.

Dior Images Paolo Roversi is so much more than your new coffee table book. The newly released gem showcases an iconic collection of noted masterpieces from collaborations with Dior over a timespan of twenty-seven years. Featuring faces like Naomi Campbell and Natalia Vodianova, Paolo Roversi’s use of Polaroid film, mixed with large-format camera film, creates a hauntingly graceful style that is immediately recognizable. Additionally, the book reveals an exclusive set of images of Christian Dior’s designs, photographed in a session styled by Grace Coddington.

Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL)’s Spring/Summer 2018 line presents pastels like never before. Available for both men and women, APL’s new collection introduces an assortment of stunning pastels and metallic styles, and over ten new colors in the Ascend training shoe. Whether you’re looking for a serious running shoe or an elegantly comfortable lifestyle shoe, APL has four different styles to choose from to ensure a perfect fit—and one that is a pristine balance of fashionable and functional.

Samuji hosted Helsinki-based design duo Kaksikko for a new collection of home products. Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters, the pair behind Kaksikko, specialize in sleek ceramic tableware and wooden furniture, and have put forth a few new products on everyone’s wish list this spring.

German artist Eva Berendes joined up with OXYDO to create a must-have line of avant-garde eyewear for the approaching sunny season. Eight different styles that incorporate geometric shapes, bright colors, and perforated metal plates make for the most luxurious way to wear your art.

OC Jewellry is much more than just a brand of classic accessories. Founder and philanthropist Orianne Collins, alongside husband Phil Collins, also started the charity Little Dreams Foundation (LDF). Not only is the jewelry unique (as its inspiration comes from Orianne’s heritage, life, and travels), but a percentage of all of OC Jewellry’s sales is donated back into LDF to help underprivileged children achieve their dreams in sports, arts, and music.
