Brand New: Cartier’s New Sunnies, Dinner with Ayala at L’Appart, and More

No contributor

Below, you’ll find our latest edition of Brand New, including new releases from brands like Cartier, Ayala, llora, and more.

Cartier’s Fall/Winter 2019 eyewear collection looked to the brand’s emblems and icons to create three series of designs. All accompanied by options for colorful lenses and metal frames, the collection includes masculine designs with titanium structures, seen in: the Santos de Cartier pieces; the Première de Cartier eyewear (which emobdy the brand’s first pair of frames released in 1983); and the Panthère de Cartier glasses—reminiscent of the house’s jewelry pieces, and featuring a sculptural panther. We’re loving the gold-rimmed Panthère glasses with pink lenses and a tiny onyx-embedded jungle cat on each side.

Designed and handcrafted in Brazil, LAPIMA (founded by husband-and-wife duo, Gustavo and Gisela Assis) creates retro-funky styles in eye-catching colors like teal, olive, and yellow, made with the finest of materials sourced from Europe. Can’t decide which one to choose? We recommend the Violeta glasses in red.

Los Angeles-based restaurant Lucky Bird has announced a Labor Day pop-up (the first national pop-up location for the restaurant) in Austin, Texas at the LINE Hotel’s eatery, Dean’s One Trick Pony. Open from August 29 until September 1, the famous fried chicken spot will be offering their staple dishes to hungry patrons, including a chicken sandwich, two-piece fried chicken, and their homemade Lucky Bird hot sauce.

Charles & Keith has introduced a few new must-haves in its Fall/Winter 2019 line, available in autumnal hues like mustard, burgundy, jade, and pink. The highlights of the new collection feature a glossy crocodile effect texture, which adds an element of luxury to unique pieces like a tiny necklace bag, a wristlet bucket bag, and a semi-circle shaped purse.

Michelin-starred restaurant L’Appart has partnered with champagne brand Ayala to present an intimate one-night-only dining experience through Resy on September 6. The evening—hosted in L’Appart, which will be designed to look like a chef’s apartment—will include a multi-course meal prepared by Chef Nicolas Abello, featuring a selection of Ayala wines chosen by Abello to complement each course. Pairings of the evening will include Brut Majeur Cuvée served with canapés and dishes (like lobster with peach salad and lemon verbena) to be accompanied by a glass of Rosé Majeur.

Ling Fu’s accessory brand llora has introduced a collection of contemporary and timeless handbags, designed to act as an extension of the wearer’s personality. Imagined in classic crocodile skin, the collection includes eight squared style variations like the petite Sofie handbag, the Cate envelope clutch, and the slightly larger Abbey purse. The handbags are available in quintessential hues like black, white, and brown, and also come in options like bright fuchsia or olive green.
