Last month in New York, fragrance house Byredo unveiled a stylish new boutique in the charismatic neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Founded by Ben Gorham in Stockholm, Sweden in 2006, Byredo has become synonymous with bewitching scents that crystallize our deepest emotions, and sustain our warmest memories.
As an extension of the its Manhattan flagship, and its wide-ranging international presence, the latest space is a contemporary haven of ethereal perfumes, opulent beauty and skin care products, and delicious home fragrances. A Streamlined Space, Evocative of Sweden at Byredo in Williamsburg
Echoing Gorham’s inspired creative direction, an evocative blend of soulful artistry, high-end design, and consistent use of singular materials, the centrally-located Williamsburg boutique greets passerby with a minimalist brick facade, opening into a peaceful haven. “Each area of New York has its own distinctive aesthetic,” explained Gorham. “Crossing over from Manhattan to Brooklyn, we wanted to showcase a different facet of Byredo so that the Williamsburg store can enter into dialogue with this unique locale.”
In homage to his cherished childhood memories exploring the aromatic forests of Sweden as well as Canada, the store handsomely unfolds in pinewood panels and classic woodwork. A grounding stone sink and silvery glass display cases welcome visitors into Byredo’s shimmering universe. Here, the organic, the industrial, and the personal unite to offer a lustrous and transformative experience for all.
