The Lotus by De Beers high jewelry collection was presented at Paris Couture this week, showcasing five sets of diamond pieces that trace the flower’s metamorphosis. The lotus flower has gained its own mythology throughout history, much like the romance surrounding diamonds.
The five stages of the collection are Awakening, Blooming, Flourishing, Radiating, and Soothing Lotus. “Each moment of transformation, unfurling petal and evocative scene is brought to life through our unique diamond expertise and technical excellence. An artful blend of rough and polished diamonds in an array of shapes and cuts create beautiful compositions,” said François Delage, CEO De Beers Diamonds Jewelers.

Each aspect of the journey is told through a perfect blend of princess, pear, baguette, marquise, oval, and round unique diamonds.
“Just like a diamond, the lotus flower changes beneath the surface until it begins its slow ascension towards the sky, drawn only by the enticing shimmer of sunlight above,” said Delage.
