Messika, De Beers, and David Yurman: High Jewelry 2018

This season’s High Jewelry collections, which premiered in Paris last week, were everything we’ve been dreaming of and so much more.

David Yurman debuted three elevated editions—the “Stax” collection, the “Day and Night Petals” collection, and the “Gems” collection. Staying true to the brand’s iconic motifs, they featured pieces like the yellow gold Day Petals ring and the Yellow Beryl Pendant necklace, which featured the brand’s signature sculpted chain and a diamond crusted pendant set with a glittering canary yellow stone.

De Beers looked to the heavens for its latest high jewelry collection, which is comprised of four, four-piece suites. All bearing otherworldly namesakes (The Cupid, Vulcan, Celestia, and Ra sets), the divine series each features diamonds set into a selection of rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Stealing the spot as the brightest star in the collection was the sun-shaped Ra necklace—fashioned after ancient Egyptian theory that the sun’s power was the origin of all life on earth.

Just as dreamy as before, Messika introduced the second installation of its “Once Upon a Time” high jewelry collection. Dripping with diamonds, the collection (which was inspired by designer Valérie Messika’s most beloved fairytales) features pieces like The Little Mermaid necklace, and The Snow Queen set—a matching ring and necklace of pear cut stones, meant to pay homage to the courageous heroine.
