Taymour Grahne’s London: Mazi, Parasol, and Punch Room

This week, we’re covering Frieze London and its surrounding events. To give you an insider look at the city, we’re talking to those in-the-know, who are sharing their favorite spots to dine, drink, relax, and see art at. Below, we hear from art advisor Taymour Grahne.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
Some of my favorite restaurants around town are Mazi, Donostia, Leroy, Popolo, and Osteria Basilico. For bars, I love The Nightjar, the bar at The London EDITION, and the Soho House bars.

WHERE TO SEE ART
Tate Modern is always fantastic. I also try and see every show at the Serpentine and the Whitechapel Gallery. I always check Camden, Parasol, Chisenhale, Studio Voltaire, and Gasworks. For blue-chip, you have all the usual suspects that are centered in and around Mayfair. For emerging artists, some of my favorite emerging gallery programs are in the East.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
The Soho Houses are always a great option, as the food is always good and you can spend the day there hanging out without having to plan anything. I love walking, so if the weather is nice, spending a Saturday in one neighborhood and then Sunday in another. I like spending the day in the park, walking around neighborhoods, hanging out at friends’ places, and checking out exhibitions.
