All this week in preparation for Frieze New York, we’re hearing from leading design, art, culture, and lifestyle experts on how they enjoy New York.
“My favorite place in the city to have lunch near the office is Le Botaniste. It is beautifully designed and serves healthy plant-based food that keeps me light on my feet during my chaotic days. The best date-night restaurant is Frenchette. It is sexy and the wine list is genius—I went for our wedding anniversary and ended up buying a magnum case of the Pet’ Sec they were serving! Les Capriades, delicious! The restaurant that makes me feel at home, where I bring my two small kids once a week, is LaRina in Fort Greene. The chef, Silvia Barban, has installed a pasta counter in the back with fresh pasta, burrata, pesto, Bolognese, olive oil—all of the things that she makes in the restaurant, and it is my go-to if I am rushing home and want to make a (seemingly) home-cooked meal. Finally, hands-down the best and still coolest restaurant in Brooklyn are our friends and partners at Frieze, Roberta’s. I missed an appointment recently in Bushwick and lamented more over not being able to eat at Roberta’s . . .”
