As the week in Miami continues, the events are just getting started. Here’s a recap of more from Monday and Tuesday night, including Dior celebrating Dior Lady Art #3, a National YoungArts Dinner, Hank Willis Thomas’ book launch, and Ebony G. Patterson’s PAMM exhibition.
Dior hosted a cocktail party Tuesday night for the global launch of Dior Lady Art #3 at its Miami Design District boutique. On view were special artist commissions of the iconic Lady Dior bag by Polly Apfelbaum, Burçak Bingöl, Lee Bul, Isabelle Cornaro, Olga De Amaral, Haruka Kojin, Li Shurui, Janaina Tschäpe, Morgane Tschiember, Mickalene Thomas, and Pae White. Guests like Thomas, Tschäpe, White, Devon Windsor, Racquel Chevremont, Gaia Matisse, Salomé and Paola Alberdi, Nicole Warne, Beau Dunn, Jenny Lopez, Rachel Lehmann, and Craig Robins, enjoyed champagne and hors d’oeuvres, music by DJ Salomé.
On Monday night, the National YoungArts Foundation hosted an intimate dinner celebrating alum Daniel Arsham. The night was hosted by Sarah Arison, Daniel Arsham, Naeem Khan, Amber Ridinger-McLaughlin and Duane McLaughlin, Darlene and Jorge M. Pérez, Swizz Beatz, Ellie and Bruce Taub, Mayi and Daniel de la Vega, and Jasmine Wahi. Guests like Larry Bell, Shepard Fairey, Mickalene Thomas, Larry Warsh, and more, enjoyed drinks from FACUNDO, as well as performances by alumni Rebecca Hargrove, Antonio Madruga, and Braxton Cook. The special evening was presented in partnership with Bruce and Ellie Taub, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, Van Cleef & Arpels, VFGI, Bacardi, U.S.A., Inc. and FACUNDO Rum Collection.
Last night, PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, Swizz Beatz, and Christian Louboutin hosted a Supper Party for Ebony G. Patterson in honor of her current exhibition at PAMM, “…while the dew is still on the roses…” Guests like Sasha Lane, Isolde Brielmaier, Victor & Athena Calderone, Derrick Adams, Heather Flow, Madison Headrick, Masego, Bettina Prentice, Boychild, Wu Tsang, April Hunt, Caitlin Moe, TK Quann, Ana Kraš, Shiona Turini, Keisuke Asano, Brianna Lance, Adam Bartoshesky, Isaac Hindin-Miller, Lando Griffin, Brianna Dotson, Coco Dotson, and Eric Jess, enjoyed music by DJ Louis Chen, custom cocktails from Pernod Ricard, and a performance by Masego.
At the Miami Beach EDITION last night, Aperture hosted the launch of artist Hank Willis Thomas’ All Things Being Equal… publication by Aperture and the Portland Art Museum, Oregon. Hosted by Sb Cooper, Rebeca Besson, Chris Boot, and Jack Shainman, the evening featured live music and the artist himself there to sign copies.
