Italian-Swiss watch manufacturer Panerai recently released a new model to their collection of flyback watches in anticipation of next year’s SIHH. The Luminor 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Ceramica integrates the P.9100 manufacture chronograph movement within a sleek, black ceramic case. The watch remains water resistant for depths of up to 100 meters, while the simple flyback function allows users to simultaneously zero-out and restart the chronograph hands.
The timepiece measures 44 millimeters in diameter and is extremely durable due to the synthetic ceramic base on zirconium oxide (which is five times harder than steel). In addition to its hardcore durability, the watch remains lightweight, and resistant to scratches, corrosive agents, and high temperatures. The back of the case features a large porthole in sapphire crystal to reveal the P.9100 chronograph movement. There are two options for the strap: a natural, untreated leather strap (that we’re partial to), and a strap made of rubber.
