A furniture collaboration fit for the sand

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Montauk’s prized hotel, The Surf Lodge, is upholding its reputation as a cultural Hamptons hotspot with beloved hospitality, food, and fun. Special for the season, as well, is its collaboration with the luxury home and design retailer CB2 for outdoor furniture and accessories, as well as the jewelry designer Sydney Evan

Transforming its outdoor spaces into an interactive lifestyle experience, the collaboration outfits the exterior spaces with standout pieces imagined by the interior and product designer Ross Cassidy. Beyond the stage, bars, and devoted regulars, are a swath of products seen around the lakeside space, inspired by the French Riviera. The activation also launches The Sandbar—a new food and beverage outlet in the sandy vignette behind VIP tables.

“The Sandbar at The Surf Lodge is an exciting development for CB2 as it marks our official foray into lifestyle experiences, allowing customers to fully interact with our product and brand outside of a store and home environment,” says CB2 President Ryan Turf. “As one of the most sought-after destinations for a discerning crowd, The Surf Lodge proved to be a perfect partner to bring our elevated designs straight to the beach.”

Themed to the new furniture collaboration, The Surf Lodge launched a Mediterranean and coastal-inspired menu to be served at The Sandbar by its new Consulting Chef, David Boyle.  On the menu this summer is a handful of new items, some exclusively served at The Sandbar, like clam ceviche, a swordfish brochette, striped bass, and a mezze platter. New cocktails are also available here, including a toasted sesame highball created with sesame-infused vodka. Completing the partnership, all waitstaff at The Sandbar is dressed in co-branded CB2 x The Surf Lodge uniforms.

“Interior design has always been a key focal point for The Surf Lodge, creating impactful spaces with a relaxed ambiance throughout our hotel and restaurant,” says Jayma Cardoso, Founder and Creative Director of The Surf Lodge. “I am thrilled to partner with CB2, leaders in the category, to bring their product to life via this new experiential concept for our guests to enjoy.”

For jewelry patrons who wish to take home a piece of the hotel, they can also enjoy a special collaboration between The Surf Lodge and the jewelry design brand Sydney Evan.

“It was a total honor to partner with Jayma for such a milestone occasion,” says Rosanne Karmas, Founder and Designer of Sydney Evan. “I’ve always created jewelry for the strong, independent, and dynamic woman, and she is the absolute embodiment of that. Fifteen years in business is a massive accomplishment, and we are thrilled to help celebrate.

The fine jewelry collection, pieces in Evan’s notable script read “Surf” and “Montauk,” inspired by the laid-back leisure of Montauk. Joining the whimsical text-based pieces are a diamond surfboard charm, and bracelets available in 14k gold or African opal beads featuring a diamond “Surf” charm.

“Coming to The Surf Lodge is all about having fun and creating memories,” said Cardoso. “I loved the idea of designing a meaningful momentum to share with our guests, reminding them of special moments had in Montauk and at the property with friends, family, and loved ones.”
