On September 28, the opening of the exhibition, “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs was celebrated in Paris. The show is a tribute to the fashion house’s founder, known for his strikingly individual designs, photographs, and fragrances. It is produced by the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts, and created in collaboration with Maison Mugler to restore the designer’s heritage couture, as well as ready-to-wear pieces.
Recent notable moments for Mugler include Beyoncé for her “I Am…World Tour” in 2008, Cardi B who was dressed in a campy pearl and oyster dress at the 2019 Grammy’s, and Kim Kardashian for the 2019 Met Gala. Manfred Thierry Mugler and Sandrine Groslier greeted guests of the “Couturissime” opening on Tuesday like Riccardo Tisci, Alessandro Ambrosio, Carla Bruni, and Viktor Horsting & Rolf Snoren, and many more.

“Thierry Mugler: Couturissime,” on view through April 24, 2022, is staged as an opera, unfolding over several acts. Visitors will experience ready-to-wear pieces, rare archival haute couture looks, fragrances, and photographs.
