On Wednesday in Paris, Valentino presented its haute couture spring/summer 2024 “Le Salon” collection inside the halls of the fashion house’s home on Place Vendôme. Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli invited us in to celebrate the act of creation at the heart of haute couture. Models descended the storied staircase into the hushed sacred salons, where celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner took in a collection that embodied the pursuit of perfection and the magic of hand craftsmanship. Jeweled ribbons in gold defied gravity. Hand-cut sequins sparkled. Feathers and organza floated ethereally, accompanied by arias from “Tosca,” “Madame Butterfly,” and “Norma.”
