Adam Silverman: Marks and Markers

Adam Silverman’s “Marks and Markers” is the culmination of three years of work, offering a narrative of self-reflection through two bodies that represent the artist’s career-long evolution. The show has been titled dually for the physical marks of Silverman’s process, which are viewable on his finished vessels, and the markers that signify things like rituals, boundaries, the passing of time, or a physical location. On view through May 21, visitors at Friedman Benda will find the works indicative of Silverman’s experimentation with his mediums of choice, including large-scale ceramic sculptures measuring up to 6 feet tall, which are presented next to the full-scale charcoal drawings that they have been based on.
