Open at Mai 36 Galerie through May 29 is Allen Ruppersberg’s first solo exhibition in Switzerland, “Collages.” Belonging to the first generation of American conceptual artists, Ruppersberg’s practice explores mass media, daily American culture, and language as a medium through the use of painting, graphic design, sculpture, books, and installations. On view are a selection of exclusive new collages created throughout 2020, which bring together elements from newspaper articles, comics, and photographs.
