Sprüth Magers presents Untitled (Who?) (2020), a new work by Barbara Kruger installed on the facade of the gallery. This work continues the artist’s long and celebrated history of public projects presented across the world, that ask direct and pressing questions to viewers. Written in Kruger’s recognisable bold, black-and-white font, both in English and Spanish, viewers will find questions such as “Who do you hate?’’ “Who do you believe?’’ “¿Quién es el que amas?’’ “Who do you hurt?’’ In the context of the current pandemic, the ongoing struggles against systemic racism and the divisive 2020 US Presidential Election, Kurger poses questions that have never been more consequential.
