September 4, 2021 - October 23, 2021
“Lunar Conveniences” is an exhibition by the Chilean artist Francisco Sierra, filling the southern gallery space of von Bartha. Open through October 23, viewers will find a series of new paintings and a sculptural installation by the self-taught artist, which blur the lines between photorealism and the surreal. Appearing to be a cross between functional furniture and musical notation, Sierra has created a series of giant, glossy wooden forms, which sit at the center of the gallery. On the surrounding walls, viewers will find a series of intriguing painted works like one depicting a dolphin on a radiator or a textural background bearing a single floating bubble.
