Berlin’s Peres Projects is showcasing an exhibition of Brent Wadden’s geometric abstractions through July 30. Made through a combination of weaving and painting, certain aspects of the artist’s works are left to the mercy of the second-hand fibers he has chosen to use—a “make do and mend” approach learned from the artist’s Nova Scotia roots. Visually imposing ideas of modernist abstraction and folk art, the unique woven works each take on a different shape, size, and pattern with their woven, textural stripes and triangles.
