The Sultanate of Oman presents “Destined Imaginaries,” an exhibition of three generations of Omani contemporary artists curated by Dr. Aisha Stoby. Including the work of Anwar Sonya, Hassan Meer, Budoor Al Riyami, Radhika Khimji and Raiya Al Rawahi, it inaugurates the first Oman Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale. In response to the question “What would life look like without us?” posed by Cecilia Alemani, the Biennale’s Artistic Director, each artist developed abstract habitats of futuristic relics inspired by the uncertain events of the past two years. The show interweaves destiny and design in its ambition to bridge the gap between art and technology.
