El Museo del Barrio‘s first national survey of Latinx art, “ESTAMOS BIEN – LA TRIENAL 20/21,” is on view now through September 26, 2021. The large-scale exhibition is curated by El Museo del Barrio’s chief curator, Rodrigo Moura, curator Susanna V. Temkin, and guest curator and artist Elia Alba. On view is work by 42 artists and collectives from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico—across generations, gender, and background. Participating artists include Candida Alvarez, Carolina Caycedo, Simonette Quamina, Raelis Vasquez, Poncili Creación, Yvette Mayorga, María Gaspar, Justin Favela, Roberto Lugo, and more. “Latinx art doesn’t rely or depend on a binary. It mixes social histories, and spans the color ranges of race. Latinx art, call it a movement, call it a space, challenges us to question the inflexibility of language and systems,” said Alba.
