The Bunker Artspace Family Affair

“Family Affair” and Annual Programming

The Bunker Artspace in West Palm Beach unveils its annual 2023-24 programming, including the curated exhibition "Family Affair."

The 2023-24 Season at The Bunker Artspace, including Family Affair

Beth Rudin DeWoody’s The Bunker Artspace has invited guest curator Peter Harkawik (founder of gallery Harkawik) to conceive the exhibition “Family Affair” as part of its yearly programming. The show is an exploration of generations of artists, looking at the dynamic in groups and families including the Saar family, Hank Willis Thomas, Peter and Sally Saul, and the Hurtado-Mullican family. Concurrently, co-curators Laura Dvorkin and Maynard Monrow have selected works exploring other concepts, including a contemporary contemplation of the reclining odalisque pose (a position common in historic portraiture captured from the male perspective) and a section considering functionality and design, featuring a four-room presentation of two-dimensional works depicting interiors and a selection of chairs made by artists like Rirkrit Tiravanija, Carl Hopgood, and Cheryl Ekstrom.
