Inaugurating the gallery space within OMR’s newly-opened ALGO—a venue located in cultural hub LAGO—is the exhibition “Form Follows Energy.” Presented in collaboration with joségarcia, mx, the presentation (on view through August 16) activates the newly-renovated structure of the LAGO building with works from 27 artists, including names like Atelier Van Lieshout, Matti Braun, Pia Camil, Gabriel Rico, Trix & Robert, and Alicia Kwade. Totaling 45 artworks ranging from small to monumental, viewers will find an exploration of ideas like crisis as an opportunity for change, societal conflicts, time and memory, and trauma as a pathway to healing—seen through works like Jose Dávilla’s gravity-defying installation The Stone that The Builder Refused, Camil’s textile work featuring a pile of human-like forms made from jeans (Blujeaneando), and the computerized LED installation by James Turrel titled GAthas (Curved Glass Series).
