Filling both of Hauser & Wirth’s London galleries, George Condo’s “Ideals of the Unfound Truth” is on view through December 23. A series of new drawings and paintings, Condo’s signature abstractions here take the form of richly colored compositions offering a depiction of our own fragmented psyches. While the works very clearly suggest human subjects, they have been built from layers of colors, lines, gestures, and body parts, embodying through their jumbled forms an intricate web of human emotions.
