Gerhard Richter: Cage Paintings

Open through June 26 at Gagosian’s West 24th Street location is a presentation of Gerhard Richter’s Cage paintings. Following the artist’s influences from naturalism and abstraction, the show features six large-scale painted works named for the composer John Cage, which Richter has constructed from various lines and colors applied to the canvas using squeegees. Also on view is a series of abstract subtractive drawings created during the summer of 2020.
