Huma Bhabha’s “Facing Giants” is a presentation of new works informed by the artist’s ongoing look at archaeological interpretation. On view at Salon 94 through June 26, the exhibition displays a selection of the artist’s sculpted characters and painted works, which have been displayed in a way that makes the viewer feel like they’ve stepped into an archaeological excavation site—including creations like the cork, styrofoam, acrylic, and oil stick Amy, alluding to idols carved in lapis lazuli and Egyptian predynastic art.
