Fondazione ICA Milano presents Michael Anastassiades’s “Cheerfully Optimistic About the Future” through June 1 2022. The London-based designer explores the notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of disciplines such as product design, interior design and environmental design.
Curated by Alberto Salvadori, “Cheerfully Optimistic About the Future” showcases the strong sense of “hand– made” Anastassiades developed in his studio during the last year. His work is inspired by different sources that he pulls from simple structures: from nature to archaic references of his native Cyprus, and from the history of modernism to personal memories. Positioned between fine arts and design, Anastassiades’ work aims to provoke dialogue, participation and interaction.
