illy presents “illy: 30 Years of Beauty,” an exhibition at Corso Venezia 6 and hosted by Around Gallery, showcasing the history of the family-owned Italian coffee company’s iconic cup. Since their debut in 1992, the cups—originally designed by Matteo Thun—have been painted and adorned by over 100 globally renowned artists. The 114 collections and 459 cups in the exhibition, alongside original sketches and drawings, comprise one of the largest contemporary art collections in the world. Speaking on the show, Illycaffè CEO Cristina Scocchia has stated: “We are happy to celebrate this major milestone, which cements the company’s strong and long-lasting bonds with the world of contemporary art, with an event that will allow the public to relive the history and origins of the iconic illy cup. Today, the cup still manages to stand out and inspire, remaining an active part of our everyday lives, and transforming the simple gesture of enjoying an illy espresso into an artistic experience.”
