Le Modulor du Basketball

MAMO – Cité Radieuse Arts Center founded by Ora Ito, in partnership with Galerie Perrotin, presents “Le Modulor du Basketball,” a site-specific exhibition by the New York-based artist Daniel Arsham, on view through September 25. The show features Arsham’s exploration of the past and future through the exhibition of sporting objects in various states of geological erosion. While engaging with the themes of recreation and athletic performance which are as old as human history itself, Arsham also engages with Le Corbusier’s ideas of design and scale in the space, which has historically functioned as a gymnasium. Along the outside terrace of MAMO are bronze sculptures by Arsham, reminiscent of Greek and Roman antiquity and also in various states of erosion.
