LA Art Show 2023

The 28th edition of the LA Art Show returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center in the West Hall from February 15—19.

February 15, 2023 - February 19, 2023

The LA Art Show returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center in the West Hall from February 15—19, presented under the care of producer and director Kassandra Voyagis. Los Angeles’s largest, longest-running fair—now in its 28th edition—this year will welcome its largest global presence and most ambitious presentations to date, featuring programming across sectors like a Modern + Contemporary platform, the European and Japanese Pavilions, an area dedicated to works on paper, Project Space, Featured Exhibitions, and the platform DIVERSEartLA, which this year focuses on the global climate crisis.

In the Modern + Contemporary sector are shows from names like Gallery Elim, Arttime, Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery, 193 Gallery, Kapopoulos Fine Art, DTR Modern Galleries, Artifact, Jane Kahan Gallery, and Studio Artego. Presenting in the European Pavilion, fairgoers can expect to find galleries like Pigment Gallery from Barcelona, the Berlin-based Galerie Makowski, and Sist’art Gallery from Venice, meanwhile, the debut of the Japanese Pavilion includes Gallery Edel from Osaka and the Tokyo art spaces Mizoe Art Gallery, Tomohiko Yoshino Gallery, Gallery Kitai, and YOD Tokyo & Editions.

The 2023 iteration of DIVERSEartLA is a must-see destination at the fair, addressing the global climate crisis in a showcase curated by Marisa Caichiolo. Its educational programming with a cause encompasses interdisciplinary solo projects (spanning material like video installations, immersive experiences, community-oriented projects, and augmented reality) that deal with the environment and humanity’s place in the world. Among these are works presented by the Museum of Latin American Art, Art Museum of the Americas, Italian Cultural Institute, Skid Row Cooling Resources / Homeless Health Care Los Angeles, and more.

Featured through various sectors, other presentations to note include a show from Arcadia Contemporary with the Ukrainian artist Denis Sarazhin, who recently relocated to the U.S. as a refugee; the exhibition “TRANSformation” by MRG Fine Art in partnership with Zero Two 20; and Gallery Chaman bringing the visual works of the artist and traditional South Korean musician Sori Choi. This year’s edition of the fair will also see 15 percent of all ticket sale proceeds donated to aid St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in its life-saving treatments and research.
