Will Gabaldón: This Must Be the Place

Will Gabaldón’s “This Must Be the Place” is a presentation of oil-painted landscapes which the artist has rendered entirely from memory.

February 15, 2022 - March 19, 2022

Named for the 1983 song by The Talking Heads, Will Gabaldón’s “This Must Be the Place” is a presentation of oil-painted landscapes and environments which the artist has rendered entirely from memory. Gabaldón’s debut solo exhibition at Various Small Fires, the intimate compositions depict scenes which the artist has experienced throughout different times and locations, captured in a palette of idyllic greens, following the artist’s belief that the worlds he captures can only be realized through painting.
