A solo exhibition of the Chinese artist Zeng Fanzhi is on view at Hauser & Wirth’s gallery in the Downtown Arts District through April 30. Fanzhi’s first solo show in Los Angeles, it fills the space’s South Gallery with a suite of monumental canvases depicting abstract landscapes. Renowned for his expressive and intuitive approach, viewers will find the artist’s latest work saturating dark canvases with layers and layers of colorful markings, evocative of natural imagery.
