Nadia Ayari: Eyelash in the Unknown

Nadia Ayari, "Waves II (detail)," 2021

The Tunisian-born and Brooklyn-based artist Nadia Ayari presents 10 new works of both painting and sculpture at Nina Johnson Gallery. The exhibition, “Eyelash in the Unknown,” invokes the poet Daniel Feinberg and gives breath and motion to nature’s elements with dancing flora, billowing branches, and whirling leaves. Densely textured paintings examined in close proximity reveal highly sculptural and expressive forms. A new color for the artist, vibrant orange, pays homage to Miami. Ayari has previously exhibited in international shows such as the U.S. pavilion at the 12th Cairo International Biennale and the 3rd Thessaloniki Biennale.
