Peres Projects has presented Nicholas Grafia’s exhibition “Free Verse Spirit,” on view between April 30—June 4. Titled after the practice of free verse poetry, which is noted for removing the rules and structure of traditional poetry, Grafia’s works on view pose questions on how to approach difficult topics in art. Drawing on influences like folklore, traditions, and oral histories, viewers can expect to find themselves facing a surrealist narrative created through painted works Dangerous Floater I and Bulan’s Twins (Shape Sisters).
