“Open Storage” brings together more than 70 pieces from the museum’s collection and archives, including works presented for the first time in a decade, recent contemporary acquisitions, art from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, and more. Displayed together in a salon-style setting, artwork across movements, media, geographies, and time periods are given the chance to converse, posing questions on interpretation like “Who is being depicted? “By whom?” “For whom?” Curated by Silvia Karman Cubiñá and Leilani Lynch, the show includes works from the past intermingled with contemporary artists like Zanele Muholi, Sanford Biggers, and Alex Israel.
