ASIA NOW 2021

Katy Donoghue

18 October 2021

Coinciding with the in-person return of Paris’s FIAC, the 7th edition of ASIA NOW will take place October 21—24 at 9, avenue Hoche in the 8th arrondissement. Conceived around the idea of “The Art of Living on a Damaged Planet,” this year’s iteration will feature more than 30 presenters highlighting the work of Asian and -diasporic artists, seen across programming like a main exhibitions sector, a lineup of special projects, conversations, and performances, the off-site L’Asie Maintenant, and for the first time ever, an Iranian art sector, Tehran NOW.

Exhibitors in the main presentations platform will include those like Louis & Sack, Galerie Vazieux, Red Zone Arts, Yavuz Gallery, CMS Collection, Aktis Gallery, and Galerie Templon. Among these presentations, visitors can expect to find the work of artists like Chen Jiang-Hong, Kengo Nakamura, and Wataru Ozu with first-time presenter Galerie Taménaga; a group show of names like Wang Yi, Xie Lei, and Hu Weiyi with HdM Gallery; and March Art’s presentation of work by Luo Mingjun, Suzanne Jalenques, and An Xiaotong.

Fairgoers will find the best of Iran’s art scene in Tehran NOW through presentations like +2 Gallery’s group presentation “Fragmented Orientalism,” the work of Arash Hanaei and Sonia Balassanian with Ab-Anbar Art Gallery, and Bavan Gallery’s exhibition of the artist Elham Etemadi. Other Tehran-based exhibitors include SARADIPOUR Art Gallery, Aaran Art Gallery, Azad Art Gallery, Mohsen Gallery, and Etemad Gallery.
