Robin Rhode: The Backyard is My World

On view at Lehmann Maupin’s London gallery through June 6 is Robin Rhode’s “The Backyard is My World.” For this exhibition, the Berlin-based artist has transformed his concrete backyard into a studio space where he imagines scenery like imaginary landscapes, playgrounds, and bodies of water, which make up the backdrops of the works on view. Choosing the location as a space that represents comfort, security, and joy, Rhode engages with his inner child for this playful series of images that employs simple actions, lines, and a dash of imagination.
